General carriage terms

Your pet must be aged more than four months old.You must imperatively check the phytosanitary acceptance conditions for your destination and transit countries. All of your pet's vaccinations must be up-to-date and effective, and you must present the following at check-in on your departure date:

• An anti-rabies certificate issued by your veterinarian
• A certificate proving that the animal has been tattooed or equipped with a smart chip
• Your pet's updated health booklet or passport.
• A certificate of good health dating from within the five days preceding the trip. If your stay exceeds 15 days, this certificate will need to be issued by the veterinary services of the destination country. Please note, for intra-European journeys, including to and from the overseas departments, you will need to present a passport which will replace this certificate.

The transportation of American Staffordshire Terriers, Rottweilers and Tosas is forbidden for all destinations served by Corsairfly.

Special conditions apply for the transportation of Bull mastiffs, Bull-terriers, Cane Corsos, Great Danes, Dogo Argentinos, Bordeaux Mastiffs, Fila Brasileiros, Fila de Sao Miguels, Neapolitan Mastiffs and Canarian Molossers or Presa Canario:

• The owner or the passenger traveling with the dog must be an adult.
• At the time of check-in, the owner must be able to demonstrate the dog's breed by means of a birth certificate, a pedigree or the LOF (pedigree dog register) issued by the central canine society.

Preparing your pet for its journey

To ensure that your pet travels under optimal conditions, please abide by the following instructions:

• Just before boarding, avoid having him transported for too long in the boot of your car. Give him a little exercise before he is put in his cage.
• Don't forget to feed your pet several hours before the flight (between 4 and 6 hours) to avoid him needing to go during the journey.
• Don't forget to give him something to drink just before departure, to avoid him becoming excessively dehydrated during the flight.
• We recommend that you do not give him any medicines or tranquillizers. You should seek the advice of a vet on this particular point. Cover the bottom of the cage with an absorbent material, such as a blanket for example.
• Don't forget to put an item of clothing in his cage which belongs to you. As it will have your scent on it, your pet will be less stressed during the journey.

Your pet will need to be kept in a container for the whole duration of the flight and will be under your entire responsibility and liability.

Everything you need to know about taking an animal in the cabin (for animals of less than 5 kg)

In the cabin, you can only travel with a single pet. If you are accompanied by a person who is also carrying a pet, you will be separated onboard for safety reasons. The animal is under your responsibility for the whole duration of the flight. If your animal weight exceed 5 kilos it will need to travel in the hold

Your pet must be placed in a regulation-standard container for the whole duration of the flight:

• This container will be equipped with an appropriate closure system and ventilation holes. Its sizes must not exceed those of an item of hand luggage, in order that it may be placed under your seat (length + width + depth = 115 cm maximum).
• If you are flying from Orly, you have the possibility to purchase a regulation-standard bag (45x35x20 cm). Price is given in the following cabin allowance (recommended retail price, subject to modification without notice)

If your dog is a guide dog, he will be allowed in the cabin on condition that he does not occupy a seat, that he is correctly muzzled, harnessed and kept on a lead. His trip will be free and as for all animals, his reservation requires a prior request to be submitted within a minimum of 72 hours before departure. Contact us

The maximum authorized weight of the animal and its container is 50 kg. If this is exceeded, the animal must travel via freight.

Your pet must be placed in a rigid plastic cage without wheels, approved for air transport. Metal cages are forbidden.

The cage of your animal has to be as solid as possible and with no sign of deterioration (crack even small, missing pieces, etc.). In case it is damaged, it will systematically be refused at the check in.

Tips on Selecting a Travel Container for your pet:

• Look for one that is put together securely (e.g., locking bolts)
• Look for metal doors instead of plastic (pets may be able to chew through or bend/buckle plastic doors )
• Stronger doors have 4 metal rods that fasten the door to the container
• Ensure door lock mechanism is strong and effective
• No wheels : Corsairfly will not accept a container with wheels

Corsairfly would like to inform you that since January 14, 2008 we no longer sell cages at departure at our airport sites.

You can carry up to 2 animals in the same cage in as far as these are of a similar size and breed and are accustomed to living together. The maximum weight of both animals and their container must not exceed 32 kg. If this is exceeded, your pets will need to travel via freight, or travel separately.

For birds

In order to be able to have your animal travel onboard one of our aircraft, you must obligatorily reserve it with us a minimum of 72 hours before departure. Contact us.

General carriage conditions.

Before their departure, you must imperatively enquire about the phytosanitary acceptance conditions for the destination and transit countries. Your bird must be vaccinated against Newcastle disease and at the time of check-in you must be able to present an international health certificate for the transportation of animals. This certificate is issued by the veterinary services and states that your animal has been examined and acknowledged as being free of any clinical signs of disease.

Everything you need to know about transportation in the hold or the cabin

If your animal is a pet bird (a budgie, parrot or pigeon, etc.), it can travel in the cabin or in the hold.
If it travels in the cabin, it must be placed in a covered metal cage.

If your hand luggage allowance is exceeded, your bird will need to travel in the hold.

2 birds may travel in the same cage in the cabin on condition that their combined weight does not exceed 5 kg and that the cage does not exceed the size of a piece of hand luggage. View the luggage allowance table

Please note! Some species are protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and may only travel by freight. Please refer to our "Unaccompanied luggage" section.

For rodents

To have your animal travel onboard one of our flights, you must obligatorily reserve this with us a minimum of 72 hours before departure, contact us..

Caution! Rodents are considered as prolific and harmful species and are refused in many countries.

General carriage conditions: Before departure, it is vital that you enquire about the phytosanitary acceptance conditions for the destination and transit countries.

At check-in you will need to present the following documents:

• An up-to-date and effective vaccination certificate.
• A certificate of good health dating from within at least 5 days from the travel date.
  If your stay exceeds 15 days, this certificate must be issued by the veterinary services of the destination country.
• An international health certificate for the transportation of animals. This is issued by the health authorities and states that your animal has been examined and is found to be free of any clinical signs of disease.

Special requirements for ferrets - You will also need to produce:

• Proof that the ferret has been obtained from a breeder or a pet shop.
• The health booklet, which should include details of its identification by means of tattooing or a smart chip.
• A certificate must be presented confirming that the animal's anal glands have been removed.
  Animals born after July 2004 are not admitted onboard (the date on which this operation was forbidden in Europe).

Note: The ferret must be vaccinated against Carré's disease. If it is traveling in the cabin, it must be carried in a cylindrical container specific to this species and available through pet shops.

Everything you need to know about the transportation of rodents in the cabin

If your animal is a small rodent (hamster, dwarf rabbit, guinea pig, white mouse or domestic rat) it can travel within the cabin in a suitable cage in which it must remain for the whole flight. You are fully liable and responsible for the animal. You must announce its presence to the flight attendant when boarding the plane and present it once again when you arrive at your destination.

The rodent must be placed in a hard plastic cage with an access gate on the top, which is not accessible by the animal even when standing on its back legs.

The size of the container must not exceed that of an item of hand luggage (Width + Length + Depth = 115 cm maximum in total, with maximum length 56 cm / maximum width 45 cm / maximum depth 20 cm).

If you wish to transport two rodents, you can put them in the same cage in the cabin if their combined weight does not exceed 5 kg and if the cage is big enough to provide them with sufficient living space. If this is exceeded, your rodent will need to travel in the hold.

Everything you need to know about transporting rodents in the hold

The containers used for the transportation of dogs and cats can be used for the transportation of rodents in the hold subject to the following conditions:

• The floor must be covered with a layer of absorbent material
• The door and the ventilation holes must be covered with a fine metal mesh.
• The door must be closed at the top and the bottom in order to avoid it being accidentally opened.

For other animals

To have your pet travel on one of our aircraft you must obligatorily reserve this with our team a minimum of 72 hours before departure. contact us.

Special case: cold-blooded animals (even if very small) are not accepted in the cabin and must travel in the hold.
